History of the Valda Twaddle Trust
The Valda Twaddle Trust was formed in 2007 following the death of Valda Twaddle who left a sum of money to James MacLeod and Geoff Burrell to manage in Trust and to be awarded to appropriate community needs as deemed appropriate by the Trustees.
The Valda Twaddle family have had a long association with Lions Clubs International.
Valda was active with the Lions Ladies and her parents John and Ivy Twaddle
Charter Members of the Noble Park Lions Club and her brother John Edward
Twaddle a member of the Forest Hill Lions Club.
Each award by the Trust is presented by the Lions Club of Forest Hill.
The Valda Twaddle Trust seeks to assist those who might otherwise have difficulty in raising the funds for a specific purpose. The Trust funds projects, items or ideas that demonstrate careful costing by the applicant organisation.
Grant Applications
The Trust does not usually make contributions toward larger funding projects such as building funds or capital works and makes contributions where funds assist and demonstrate a clear community benefit. The community benefit of a funded project shall be primarily within the City of Whitehorse.
The Trust will make its assessment on the basis of the information contained in the official Application Form. Additional material or attachments will not be considered unless specifically requested by the Trust.
Awards are limited to a maximum of $2,500.
Applications are more likely to succeed if they take into account all of the above points.
The Application period for 2024 has now closed. The Trustees will provide a written response to all successful and unsuccessful applicants during May 2024
